Membership details of the East Dorset Mental
Health Carers Forum
In 1998, the East Dorset Mental Health Carers
Forum was first formed out of a meeting at St Ann's Hospital,
which identified the need for an independent Mental Health
Carers Forum in the East Dorset area. The idea of the Forum
is to raise the needs and concerns of Mental Health Carers
in the East Dorset area and represent those views at relevant
meetings with the statutory authorities. In August 2003, we
secured a three-year Community Fund grant that has enabled
us to employ a full time Development Worker and a part-time
Administrator. At present, we have 2 paid workers as well
as 6 Committee members and 167 members on our mailing list.
We are continually looking at expanding our Committee membership
as well as our normal membership and Associate membership.
As part of our development, we achieved charitable status
in September 2004.
